9. Robert HOOKS ⁽²⁾ was born in 1780. ⁽²⁾

He was married to Mary BISHOP (daughter of James BISHOP and Mary).^{(2) (5)} "Robert Hooks married a Miss Bishop, by whom he had four sons and three daughters. The eldest of the daughters, Serena, married Benjamin Aycock, and became the mother of Charles Brantley Aycock." (Connor & Poe: Life and Speeches of C.B. Aycock, p.4) Mary BISHOP⁽²⁾ was Quaker (originally).⁽⁶⁾ "Mary Bishop was expelled from the Contentnea Meeting for her marriage to a non-Quaker." (Orr: C.B. Aycock, p.4) Robert HOOKS and Mary BISHOP had the following children:
