Grover Belmont PROCTOR Sr (son of Henry PROCTOR and Mary Ella HINTON) was born on 7 Jan 1918 in Rocky Mount, NC. He graduated in 1935 in Moncure High School, Moncure, NC. He served in the military in 1944/45. He served in the U.S. Army as Pfc from April 1944 until his discharge in November 1945. He participated in the Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge) and Rhineland (Siegfried Line) Campaigns; was wounded near Olzheim, Germany, in February 1945; and was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation, the Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart.
